Looking for a new fiddler to listen to? One of my big inspirations is the great musician Casey Driessen. He has done TED talks, released a number of albums, and is currently teaching at Berklee in Valencia, Spain. He is constantly doing creative things, like his most recent album, The Singularity. On this album, as you might have already guessed, it is just him playing, and once you hear it you’ll realize how amazing it really is. Not only is it just him, but it has all happening live, in one take, and you might think ‘That must be boring if it’s just one fiddle!’ However, he does it with a loop pedal and many effects pedals. All of his tracks are filled with different layers and ideas but all portray the same idea, Singularity.
